A student asks a teacher, “What is love?” The teacher said, “In order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back. But there is one rule: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.” The student went to the field, went thru the first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders… may be there is a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one… But there may be an even bigger one waiting for him. Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he started to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he knew he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted. So, he ended up going back to the teacher with empty hands. The teacher told him, “This is love… You keep looking for a better one, but later you realise, you have already missed the right person…”  “What is marriage then?” the student asked.  The teacher said, “In order to answer your question, go to the corn field again and cho...

My Birthday 2017

Image
October is and always will be special month for me. Why? I bet you know why. Haha! It’s my birthday. It is also my father’s birthday and Gerald’s! All in one month. Gerald and I decided to celebrate my birthday at Boracay. <3 Because it’s Gerald’s first time in bora and the last time I was in Boracay was – if I am not mistaken - 13 years old. (I booked it first, before our accounting summit)  Good thing we had a free room voucher at Microtel by Wyndham from my Boss – It was his wedding gift but since we had other plans on our honeymoon, we decided to defer the redemption. Hehe. We also have free voucher at Cebu pacific in any domestic destination... Microtel Boracy Pool Side (Sayang lang may windbreaker) When my parents learned that we were about to go to Boracay. They joined us. Hehe. My travel Buddies! If you remember they were also with us when we went to Bicol. Haha! DOUBLE DATE at its finest. We don’t complain ofcourse! Tipid un for us. Haha! P...

My Best--ies

Image
The older you get, the more you will know who the most important people in your life are. When I was in grade school, the bigger your circle of friends, the better. You will not even choose whom you can be friends with. Basta kakampi mo sa 10-20 friends na kayo, importante na siya. But now, you will really choose whom you can be friends with. I mean, who are the people who will put your efforts. You will learn to remove toxic, negative people in your life. And learned to just ignore them! With all the busy-ness of life (you may also add the traffic who ate the twenty percent of your day), I can say, that I need to give more time, effort and energy to people whom I value the most and in return, I am certain that they value me as well. Diba nga, people come and go but the best of the best stays forever. Yes, we don’t see each other more often but when we do it was a blast! <3 So, they really deserve a shout out -- TitasofMnl :) *insert thea and sel* Since Tle, ou...

Accounting with Excellence

Image
"Find(ing) your passion in the job you have.." - Atom  To be honest I never dream to be an accountant. BSA was never in my vocabulary. In fact, I just learned that Accounting exist when I was about to enroll college. Accounting was never been part of my college choices. If you know me well, you probably knew what was the story behind and how I ended up enrolling in BSA. In short, dito lang talaga ako napadpad. Literal! But eventually, when I realized na I don’t have any choice. Naka graduate na ko, pumasa and all, I learned to accept that I am an accountant. But since being an accountant is stressful, I ended up job hopping. I applied in different companies and hoping to find “the one”. But at the end of the day I am still not contented. Until one day I realized that the issue here is not who I work with. The issue here is what I think. And how I am ungrateful with life. Now, I change my perspective. I learned to be contented and to be thankful when it comes to my ...

Mid-Year 2017

Image
Can you believe that the first half of 2017 was already finished! Time really flies so fast. Our church had their regular Mid-Year prayer and fasting. It was also a great opportunity to pause, reflect and thank God for all the blessings and learnings… Lessons Learned so far in 2017? 1 st half of 2017 is the season of adjustment and reflections for me. Jumping from singlehood to being married was a big leap of faith. Well, there is a big difference between living your life without anyone to consider and having a shared life with someone else. Don’t take me wrong, I am not complaining. I am very very very happy and contented with this new phase of my life, what I am trying to say is that I am a working-in-progress. My character, my maturity, my views in life - these are the things I need to improve. These are the things God wants me to reflect with. Highlights and answered prayers? God grant me to have the contentment in life. For the past years, it was always been ...

my BIR story. Part 1

Image
I am currently working in a hotel chain in the Philippines. As an Accountant,  the big chunk of my stress is handling BIR related concerns and meeting with the assessors . Recently, we had an assessment, I was so shock because in myself that we are paying our taxes correctly and we have good documentations and filing. If you’re handling BIR transactions, I know you can relate how bulok the system is. (There’s hope for the Philippines, clamming now!) Of course we filed a petition for reinvestigation and it was granted. As of the moment, they are under re-assessing their assessment. I was so tempted to ask my boss to just pay the assessor, since anyway we dispute (legally) with BIR, we will still pay millions in the end. But I was reminded by God for two things. 1.     It is God’s answer for my prayers .  I always ask God to give me a work that have bosses with strong moral values. Then, God bless me with this company – the number one core valu...
