Bicol Express

My sister-in-law was married last April 26, 2017 and with that we had a chance to go to my husband’s hometown. For every one’s knowledge, my husband grew up in Pili, Camarines Sur (hence, his love for spicy foods). All his childhood and teen years was spent there! That is why I was so excited to see all those places where he usually go, his school, the park where he plays, their house, the bahay kubo and the river. Whenever my husband tells me stories about his childhood, I just imagine those but now I will finally be there! Too bad I had measles and don’t have the strength to take pictures of those :( But still memories last a life time naman. ehehe

As soon as I got the news that the wedding will be in Bicol, I booked a flight from Manila to Naga (which was the airport was really in PILI). Few hours before our flight, Cebu Pacific called informing us that our flight was transferred to LEGASPI airport which was 4 hour drive to PILI! Haaaaaay. Prolonging the agony… Charr!

We arrive at PILI around 3pm. We went straight to their house to eat lunch (we don’t have the luxury of time to have lunch, kasi nga napalpak na bigla ung IT naming). By the way I am with my parents so since they will be part of the entourage as sponsors.

It was so funny when they offer us BICOL EXPRESS and LAIN (vegetable dish made with dried gabi leaves). Both dish were classic examples of the Bicolano’s affinity to chili peppers and their wide use of gata (coconut milk) in cooking. I never thought that spicy Bicolano level is really spicy plus the fact that they claimed that the food they offer was just mild because they know that we are not used in spicy food… (grabe, paano pa kaya ung totoong anghang nila). I thought it was just a myth. Haha! But now, I prove to myself that it was true!

I also met their relatives. His Lolo't Lola which was 90 years old already. My father conclude that it's because of their love for Sili but i don't know it its true

It so nice to attend weddings. You know I still cry whenever I here wedding vows. Haha! Such a cry baby. Marriage is really from God – because finally, the beginning of the new chapter of your life. The fulfillment of the story which God wrote. It was so wonderful.
During the entourage, with my forever date. <3

We wish you all the best! <3

Of course I cannot miss the Mayon Volcano so the next day after lunch we travel (again) to Legaspi with my parents. <3 we arrived there around 5 PM. The whole time, the Mayon Volcano was hiding in the clouds. :(

Good thing, the next morning she shown and not shy anymore that’s why when we had our ATV and visit the Cagsawa ruins we had a beautiful view. I had so much fun with that tour. Especially the ATV ride. It was my first time to try it. There are 3 tours to choose from. Cagsawa short trail Php 399, Green Lava wall trail php 950, and Black Lava wall trail. We chose BicolAdventure ATV it is the most sulit tour company (I think) because the other tour company is kind a pricey.

My parents chose the Cagsawa short trail but according to them it was bitin. My husband and I chose the black lava trail, our mide set is to choose the longest, farthest so that we will try it just once (para wala nang balikan).

Our trail was 6km wide (so total of 12 KM). At the end of the trail it the Lava wall. It was nice view. You can be so near in the mayon and the other side is a body of water. hahaFor me if your aim is for instagram post only, you can pick the cagsawa short trail. :) Since my parents chose the short trail, they end up dating in the cagsawa ruins. hahaha.
