I am engaged!
Engaged with the most wonderful engineer in the whole wide world!!! We got engaged last 02-14-16. Then, we planned our wedding on 12-14-16! 10 months of planning.. (Lord, help us!)
Anyway, we had a pre-nup pictorial last Sunday (07/24/16) but before I make kwento on what happened in our pre-nup, I’ll share to you my engagement story.
Since I can consider myself a number person, (although I’m stupid at mental math) I am always fascinated with the series dates like 07-07-07 or 11-11-11 or 12-13-14. I really wanted to have a wedding seriesable date. Hahahaha! Since life have ups and down I cannot be married on those dates. That’s why I desired to be married on 12-14-16 (it was not Fung Shui-ed as others thought). God really blessed me and give that desire. I can say that I am really a favored daddy’s little girl!
Last quarter of 2015 and so, our conversation always include those “wedding planning”. We also attended wedding fairs. Although we never labeled and announced that there’s an “us” (this topic is worthy to have another post). I also share the plan to my closest friends. One of my friend said “wag kang papayag ng walang singsing. Then I explain to her that it was me who doesn’t want a ring because of the sole purpose of “Benefit over cost”. For me, there’s a lot of wedding expenses that is worthy to be financed than an engagement ring. That’s why I never expect for a “proposal”. That time, I can say that he is my officially (but unlabeled and undated) fiancé. I guess, our relationship is full of unlabeled and undated commitments and events. We never celebrate monthsary and anniversary.
We dated, yes. He talked to my mother that he is courting me, yes. Pero, basta pero.
Then one time, we had our ordinary Sunday. After the 11 am service we had lunch then we had our different victory group. My victory group starts at 1pm, his starts at 1:30. He do the usual thing, he accompanied me at J.Co which usually my Vgroup’s meeting place. He said he’ll wait for me at the Starbucks and said goodbye.
After our VGroup, I went to the starbucks and immediately saw him. I sat infront of him and greeted but he’s too busy playing or surfing (I can’t remember what he’s doing). I’m about to wipe the table but in that particular moment there was no tissue! So I look around and saw a SB tissue in his pocket. “eto pala tissue eh”, I immediately grab the tissue to his pocket. But at a snap, he snatched the tissue from me. Then he asked me to close my eyes. When I opened my eyes he was holding a red box… With that tissue in front of me. Haha! Being him, an introvert person, I know he did not plan to propose on that public place! (love you be).
I’m just blessed to have him… Despite of my immaturity and mood swings, he never failed to understand me. He just so patient and loving.
When people asked me if I’m sure of this decision, I can boldly say that YES im sure. Although he have weakness and shortcoming I still love him. All of him. And I promise to love him for the rest of our life.
And for me that’s enough.
And that God will always be the center of this relationship.
Opppps, this was supposedly an engagement prenup shoot but anyway, I’ll just post another blog for you!
