Palawanderers!

Before I will become busy again for my incoming term, I post a blog our Puerto Princesa Trip.  I am really on the mood to compose a blog now so I’ll take this opportunity before my katamaran hits me again!

This Puerto Princesa trip was one of the most memorable one! Why? Because first, I was with my MBA colleagues and second it was Gerald’s first airplane ride. That’s why I need to document it very well. Hehehe

before, during, after

The night before our flight, I asked Gerald to sleep at our house since our flight was to early ad we cannot afford to be late! And because we’re oh so excited, we arrived at the terminal 2 hours before. Haha! Anyway, It’s better early than sorry.
There was a van waiting for us in the terminal to our hotel. Our hotel, Microtel, was too far from the city proper. Good thing they have vans that travelling every after 30 mins so that whenever we have errands or we want to hang around around the city, we can. Hassle free! It was also have a nice room view because it was beach front.
Welcome to Puerto Princesa Palawan!

Since our time was tight we had our first tour right after out check in. We had our HONDA BAY TOUR. Our tour package includes van transfers, boat right for island hoping and lunch. My favourite part of the tour was at the STARFISH Island. That was the first time I saw a live star fish. I wish I can bring them home!!!

Self claimed Super body.. hihi

during our island hopping

we now called our group "super buds"

We had our lunch at cowrie

After our Honda bay tour which was almost 7 hours of island hopping, snorkelling and swimming. We took a rest (a little bit) in our hotel and we had our second tour which was the FIREFLY watching. This tour was quite unpopular to the tourist but for me, I can say that it was a wonderful experience. Sayang, if you did not try this!  It was like a fairy tale. Haha. While you were at the boat, the river glows, the trees twinkle and the stars shine so bright!

The river really glows because of the algae (not sure) that lives in the water. It was their defence mechanisms that every time they were been touch they glow... I was really amazed. Of course the trees twinkle because of the fire fly. It was my first time. To saw a firefly so near! And while you are at the boat you can also have star glazing which was fun because the boat man point different objects and forms.

I can say that we really squeezed our first day which was not quite advisable. Side kwento, upon riding the boat during our firefly watching I vomit so hard. Ehehe. Nakakahiya. The locals gave me medicine and water. Sobrang pagod and puyat kasi. So I guess that was so much for the first day! <3

It was our magic wand. Every time you put this in the water, the river glows! <3

Not all people are lucky enough to witness that such a nice sun rise in PPS, That's why on our second day, we make sure that we will witness that. And it was breathtaking :)

Anyway, our second day was quite relax. We had enough time to enjoy our buffet breakfast at Microtel and we had enough time to swim at the pool. hihi because our itinerary was just city tour. :)

If you're just planning to have your PPS travel, upon arrival, you might consider the city tour first than honda bay. Para hindi masyadong tadtad.

And ofcourse, Our main event was UNDERGROUD RIVER! Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Palawan is one of a kind habitat rarely found in any other part of the globe. Passages or routes of this the underground river are more than 24 km long and showcases various species of wildlife, rock formations, karst and massive chambers. The main province of the park, Palawan is one of the most visited places in the Philippine Island Archipelago.

The tavel was so long.. We took 4 zigzag travel hours. Please make sure to take Bonamin if you always feel dizzy in long ride.

So we arrived about 10 am but are lots of people already in the line for a boat ride. Our turn will be at around 2 pm! Imagine, we need to wait for another 4 hours just to have an available boat. So, our tour guide suggest to have another tour first. It either 1) zipline at sabang beach or 2) Mangrove tour. At first I was hesitant because it was a little bit pricey and that was not part of our budget. hehe. But since it was a group tour we need to have a unanimous decision. So at the end we did the alternative adventure.

Good thing we did! We chose the zipline since we already had a mangrove tour at our firefly watching..We need to walk at Sabang beach and trek. Sabang beach was so wonderful! No resort. No establishment. Just bare white sand beach with crystal clear water and peaceful blue sky.

I almost take my shirt off. Di naman kasi kami nainform!
look, we own the beach!

During our trekking!

Zipline

After our zipline!

then we had our lunch (i don't have pictures during lunch because i was so tired and hungry)

At long last! We had our boat already. We forgot to take photos during the boat ride because we enjoyed the view and the conversation..

That sums up our PPS tour! It was nice. I had lot of photos at the Underground river but I can't find it. :( Sayang, some photos are my favorite pa naman.. I hope I still have it. Anyway, I had the memories in my heart. <3

Next stop, ELNIDO!!!!!

Sobrang sulit mag stay dito.. <3
